Oscar prizes

On our last post, we talked about the Goya prizes, right, well today we are going to talk about the Oscars.

The oscar Awards, also called "Academy Awards" are annual awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of the United States  in recognition of the excellence of professionals in the film industry, including directors, actors and writers, and is widely considered the highest honor in the cinema
The Oscars are officially called "Academy Awards of Merit" and are the principal of the nine prizes awarded by the organization
The formal act, in which the awards are presented is one of the most prominent and prestigious in the world ceremonies, and is broadcast live each year for more than one hundred countries. It is also the  oldest ceremony awards in the media.
The AMPAS was originally conceived by Louis B. Mayer, president of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, as an organization that would improve the image of the film industry and help mediate labor disputes. Oscar Awards were created later by the Academy as a prize "in recognition to the achievement obtained" in the cinema industry
The first awards ceremony took place on May 16, 1929, in the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles, honoring film achievements in the years 1927 to 1928. The 88 ceremony took place on February 28, 2016 in Dolby Theatre and was hosted by actor and comedian Chris Rock.
